Excellent docents with lots of knowledge and insight into this architectural gem. Very help team running the visitors center. Provided a golf cart for someone with mobility challenges; just wish they could figure out a way to get the interior more accessible without affecting the integrity of the design.

This place is very well restored and maintained and the tour guides are very knowledgeable about its history and contents. The gift shop has restrooms. The actual house is about an 8 minute walk from the gift shop, though it is extremely beautiful. Unfortunately, I still do not like mies after seeing this in person.

Fascinating setting overlooking the Fox River. With many amenities for spending many an hour here along well maintained trails finding new treasures just about everywhere you look. The guided tour of the actual Farnsworth house gives insight into a rich history. It's a pity that most visitors are from far away for this truly is one of Illinois hidden gems.

Do not miss this gem. Our guide was so knowledgeable and informative. The stories of the owners, architect, building process, were just as interesting as the house. The grounds are beautiful, and there is this amazing cube created by an architecture student, that you must engage with. I hope to be back in the area for jazz on the lawn, or other events. No one ever says this, but...l8nger in the gift shop. There are wonderful finds for reasonable prices. Check out the coffee mugs and the jigsaw puzzles. The associate in the gift shop was a joy to talk to. Don't let the entry price stop you from buying the guided tour. Your fee goes to preserve this house, which is on the national historic register. Just go!

I've wanted to take this tour since high school and finally got the chance to do it, some 30+ years late - It was worth the wait! The beautiful architecture, natural surroundings and the depth of knowledge of our tour guide Mae the day unmatchable. We already know we're coming again and again to experience more of this hidden gem.

Absolutely breathtaking piece of architectural history. Worth booking the guided tour ahead of the visit as they sell out on weekend days. The guided tour is $25 per person and takes you inside the home, or you can buy entry to the ground for $10 and walk around the house on the outside. Our guide, John P. was absolutely fantastic - a well of knowledge about the home and the history of it, and his love and passion for Farnsworth House was not only captivating but infectious. The grounds are beautiful as well, great for a riverside walk on a lovely sunny day.
